Unusual jobs for engineers

The ICE website features an article that examines exceptional roles in civil engineering. As part of their Tomorrow’s Engineers week, they highlighted that there are some fantastic and diverse opportunities out there for engineers that are not just about calculations and concrete.

Some engineers are lucky enough to be involved with the most amazing structures in the world undertaking projects that are far from boring and ordinary. For instance, designing roller coasters, creating fantastical temporary structures for film sets or theme parks, or even working for NASA designing launch pads and associated infrastructure. These sorts of jobs when they become available are no doubt the stuff of dreams with an extremely competitive application process.
